Senior Yordanos Zelinski earned runner-up honors at the Wisconsin State Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, April 9, at UW-Whitewater.

Zelinski clocked in with a time of 1 minute, 54.78 seconds to take second in the 800-meter run. Shorewood junior Nathan Cumberbatch finished first in the event with a time of 1:53.74. Oregon senior Eli Weink placed 18th in the event with a time of 2:03.6. Junior Wil Cram finished 31st with a 2:10.07.

Zelinski helped the Panthers to an 11th-place finish as a team with 14 points. Oregon tied with Milwaukee King for 11th. Kimberly finished first with 51 points, while Arrowhead took second with 40 points.

Zelinski, Weink and seniors Zach Clark and John Ruth teamed up for a third-place finish in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:36.74. Clark added a 23rd-place finish in the 400 with a time of 54.71. Freshman Noah Hansen (56.3) and Ruth (56.3) took 40th and 41st in the 400, respectively.

The 800 relay team of seniors Axel Berglund, Amir Warren and Teague Szudy, along with sophomore Jeremiah Rockiett finished 31st in the event with a 1:40.1.
