Junior Zach Temple finished first overall to lead the Madison West boys cross country team to the top spot at the Glenn Herold Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Watertown High School.

The Regents put together a team score of 38 points, 15 points better than second-place and Big Eight foe Verona (53).

Temple clocked in with a time of 16 minutes, 46.87 seconds in the 243-runner race. Verona senior Blake Oleson earned runner-up honors with a time of 16:52.7.

Madison West had three runners in the top six and all five scoring racers inside the top 15.

Junior Truman White finished fifth with a time of 17:16.26, while sophomore Liam Culp placed sixth with a time of 17:23.19. The Regents were rounded out with juniors Eli Pettit (17:49.12, 11th) and Harrison Glazer (18:07.82, 15th).
