From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, the Oregon-Brooklyn Lions Club will host their 10th Stuff the Bus event to collect school supplies for students. Jim Hagstrom, a driver with the Oregon School District, lent the organization his school bus for the event; donors will find it parked at the Walgreens on Main Street.
Amy Miller, the OSD Community Education and Recreation Director, notes the most-need items for the upcoming school year are notebooks, binders, plastic folders, markers, glue sticks, pens, scissors, index cards, composition notebooks, pencils and large backpacks.
They aim to collect between $5,000 and $7,500 worth of school supplies each year, organizer Tammy Rockenbach told the Observer.
