Little John’s home-delivered meals

The Fitchburg Senior Center has formed a partnership with nonprofit restaurant Little John’s, 5302 Verona Road, to offer home meal deliveries.

According to the senior center newsletter, clients can receive extra meals on Tuesdays and Fridays. The effort is meant to increase food access amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the newsletter states.

The Fitchburg Senior Center, 5510 Lacy Road, is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to patrons.

COVID-19 testing

Fitchburg Family Pharmacy continues to offer free COVID-19 testing services from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Book Hedgehog

The Fitchburg Public Library will be holding an online event to create a book hedgehog at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, on the Fitchburg Public Library Facebook page. The event will show how to transform an old book into a hedgehog.

Oak Bank - Fitchburg Fire Department Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Fitchburg Fire Station at 2931 Marketplace.

To set up an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org and enter code Fitchburg. Although appointments are preferred, walk-ins also are welcomed.

Berbee Derby

The annual Berbee Derby run/walk will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 25, at the Agora Fitchburg Center 5500 E. Cheryl Parkway.

Registration for individuals is $35. Kids ages 4-6 can register for just $5.
