The Birds & The Teas: Purple Martins

Lesbian Women’s Social Group

Many older lesbian women may feel isolated and without community support as they age. Their life experiences can be quite different which can present barriers to feelings of acceptance. The purpose of the Lesbian Women’s Social Group is to provide support from like-minded women and promote a sense of community among group members. The current plan is to hold a monthly walk at McKee Farms Park, 2930 Chapel Valley Road. This will serve as a group builder as well as an icebreaker for new members. After a loop around the park, the group will decide on at least one social event in the community they might be interested in attending together (such as festival, restaurant, movie etc.) during the next month. Accommodations will be made for those who are unable to walk. Kick off for the group will be Tuesday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. Meet at the park shelter near the main parking lot. Growing mushrooms in your backyard or garden is an easy way to produce your own food and add beneficial mycelium to your soil. In this session, Zach Seaborne will cover two different techniques for bed cultivation: wood chips and compost. Participants will learn which mushrooms are applicable for each technique, as well as site selection, substrate preparation, and when and how to inoculate. Join the Italian Workmen's Club for Festa Italia, a 3-day celebration of family, food, and fun! Festa Italia

Join the Italian Workmen's Club for Festa Italia, a 3-day celebration of family, food, and fun! Festa Italia will be held at McKee Farms Park and will feature a variety of Italian foods and desserts, cultural exhibits, traditional and popular live music, Italian folk dancing, a bocce tournament, cooking demonstrations, youth soccer exhibition, magic show, face painter, children's games, raffle prizes and much more. Admission is $5.00, which includes access to all entertainment offerings. Children 12 & Under are FREE. Parking is free with shuttles from several parking areas. 2022 Musical acts include Gerri DiMaggio, Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, Cash Box Kings and others!
The Improv Lab at The Tiger Tavern

Race For Agrace

Join for this one-mile fun walk and timed 5K run/walk to benefit Agrace’s Care for All Fund. Sunday, June 5th at 9 a.m. at Agrace in Madison. At Agrace, they believe that everyone deserves access to their compassionate, high-quality care, regardless of who they are or whether they can pay. Through their Care for All program, Agrace steps in to offer their patients help paying when they do not have enough insurance coverage for their care and have no other way to pay for the services they need.
