Verona Road construction update for June 9-13

The following report is provided by this Wisconsin Department of Transportation:
 
All lane restrictions and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change.
 
Verona Road work
  • TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE: The east side of Atticus Way/Summit Road intersection is temporarily shifted to the north, across from Britta Parkway, until July 2014.
    • Starting Tuesday (June 10), the west side of the Atticus Way/Summit Road intersection, near Home Depot and U-Haul, to be shifted slightly south from its current location. Two lanes will remain open in each direction on Summit Road.
    • Ramp from northbound Verona Road to the eastbound Beltline shifted onto the new alignment on Verona Road.
    • NOTE: Backups and delays are anticipated on Verona Road, especially during peak travel times, as motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern.
  • Two lanes open to traffic on Verona Road (in each direction), between the Beltline and Raymond Road.
  • Access remains open to area businesses and neighborhoods.
    • Regardless of any roadwork inconvenience, please continue to patronize area businesses in the Verona Road work zone.
  • Daytime work is ongoing on Verona Road northbound and the frontage roads.
    • Work to occur approximately 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. (June 9-14)
  • Daily lane closures on the westbound Beltline off ramp and Midvale Blvd.
    • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (June 9-13)
  • Allied Drive/East Frontage Road, between Thurston Lane and Red Arrow Trail, to be CLOSED with no through access from June 10-14 (weather dependent).
    • Traffic to be re-routed on Red Arrow Trail and Thurston Lane.
  • Freeport Connection to be CLOSED with no through access from June 10-14(weather dependent).

Whitney Way ramp work

  • Daytime work is ongoing on the Whitney Way noise wall construction and storm sewer construction on the Whitney Way ramps.
    • One right turn lane CLOSED from the westbound Beltline off ramp to Whitney Way until June 9, 2014. One right turn lane to remain open.
    • Outside shoulder CLOSED from Whitney Way to the westbound Beltline until June 18, 2014.
  • Nighttime lane closures on the westbound Beltline ramp to Whitney Way.
    • 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (June 13-14)
    • One ramp lane to remain open. All turning movements to be maintained.
    • Note: these lane restrictions are weather dependent and subject to change.
       
Westbound Beltline
  • Nightly lane closure on the westbound Beltline from Whitney Way to Gammon Road.
    • 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (June 9-14)
  • Nightly lane closures on the westbound Beltline at Seminole Highway.
    • 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (June 9-13)
  • Median shoulder closure on the westbound Beltline from Whitney Way to Gammon Road.
  • Daytime work on the westbound Beltline between Todd Drive and Seminole Highway.
    • Lane shift within this work zone.

Eastbound Beltline

  • Nightly lane closure on the eastbound Beltline from Gammon Road to Whitney Way.
    • 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (June 9-14)
  • Nightly lane closures on the eastbound Beltline at Seminole Highway.
    • 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (June 9-13)
  • Median shoulder closure on the eastbound Beltline from Gammon Road to Whitney Way.
 

West Beltline Frontage Road (east of Verona Road) 

  • CLOSED to through traffic, between Britta Parkway and Whenona Drive (south of the Beltline), until October 15, 2014.
    • Alternate routes are required. Access to area businesses to remain open.

 

Whitney Way and Gilbert Road intersection
  • Daytime work to install an overhead sign for northbound Whitney Way at Gilbert Road. Single lane closure may occur along Whitney Way at the intersection.
    • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (June 9-13

Verona Road and County PD (Military Ridge path)
  • Daytime single lane closures may occur on westbound and eastbound County PD (McKee Road) at the Military Ridge overpass.
    • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (June 9-13)
  • Work continues on bridge construction along the abandoned railroad line, just east of the Verona Road and County PD intersection.
    • This portion of the trail to be closed on north and south sides of County PD until summer 2014.
    • Military Ridge State Trail along Verona Road remains open.
