Verona Road traffic pattern change set for May 30

Motorists asked to plan ahead, drive with caution through work zone

Traffic patterns will shift starting May 30 along Verona Road. Another shift is planned for July.

A traffic pattern change will occur later this week on Verona Road between the Beltline and Raymond Road, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

“By Friday morning (May 30), the east side of the Atticus Way/Summit Road intersection will be temporarily shifted to the north, across from Britta Parkway,” WisDOT officials said. “The west side of the Atticus Way/Summit Road intersection, near Home Depot and U-Haul, will remain at its existing location.”

All traffic is anticipated to switch to the northbound lanes of Verona Road in July 2014.

Drivers should follow the signs and pavement markings to reach their destination.

Two lanes remain open to traffic in each direction on Verona Road in this work zone. Access to area businesses and neighborhoods remains open during construction. The public should continue to patronize area businesses in the work zone.

The $28.2 million construction work in 2014 is expected to be completed in November 2014.
