East Cheryl Parkway closed May 19-June 7

Construction between No Oaks Ridge and Lacy Road

East Cheryl Parkway will close from No Oaks Ridge to Lacy Road from May 19 to June 7, weather permitting, to allow for improvements to the railroad line.

The rail line is being reopened from Fitchburg to Oregon to serve Lycon Inc.'s new concrete facility in Oregon, and improvements are needed at the crossing to make it driveable.

At East Cheryl Parkway, improvements include 300 feet of road work and installation of concrete panels to allow cars to cross the line smoothly.

At Lacy Road, crews will raise the intersection of South Syene Road by about two feet. That will involve 550 feet of road work on Lacy and 400 feet on Syene.

That project will also involve about 800 feet of sanitary sewer work for future development south of Lacy Road.

With questions on the road closings or projects, contact project engineer Gus Vander Wegen at 270-4266 or gus.vanderwegen@fitchburgwi.gov.
