Fitchburg resident awarded Lakeland College 'Outstanding Student'

 Lakeland College announced their Outstanding Student Award winner recently.

Jennifer Kjin of Fitchburg received the Outstanding Student in Communication Award, the Residence Life Staff Member of the Year Award, and the President’s Choice Award at the Lakeland College annual Honors banquet.

Kjin also received the Outstanding Student Leader Award and was one of 29 students to receive the honorary “Who’s Who” award.

The Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and College award is one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors program in the nation having over 2,800 schools across the country participate.

Kjin is involved all over campus and the local community. She is a Lakeland campus ambassador, an RA on campus, the President of the Lakeland College Habitat for Humanity chapter, and is currently completing an internship at DoubleVision Films in Sheboygan. 

Lakeland faculty and staff nominated students based upon eligibility requirements, and then determined the honorees based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities and leadership and service to the community and school.
