Police save life while executing search warrant

Dane County Narcotics Task Force members and the Fitchburg Police were executing a search warrant at a Fitchburg home Dec. 6 when they found an unconscious man and saved his life.

The warrant was part of an ongoing heroin investigation involving 55-year-old Robert Bonner.

When officers entered an apartment at 1906 Greenway Cross, they found Bonner unconscious and called for Fitchburg EMS while beginning life-saving efforts.

Paramedics gave Narcan, a drug to offset heroin overdoses, to Bonner and transported him to UW Hospital.

Several items of evidence were seized from the apartment by investigators.
