Traffic stop leads to felony OWI arrest
A Fitchburg man was arrested early Friday morning under suspicion of drunken driving – his fourth – according to a news release from the Dane County Sherriff’s Office.
According to the release:
A Dane County Sheriff’s deputy made traffic stop for speeding around 2 a.m. on the Beltline at Monona Drive. The driver was traveling 82 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Lorenzo A. Jones, 33, was found to be intoxicated, but refused to provide a blood sample. Following a search warrant to obtain the sample, he was arrested for OWI - 4th offense. State statutes make the fourth OWI a felony in Wisconsin
He is currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
Online court records show Jones was last charged with OWI in December 2010.
